Frankie befriended me shortly after I arrived from Australia forty years ago and came to serve as acting warden of the old youth hostel by the river for a few weeks in the summer of 1985. I still have a strong sentimental attachment to the location. We had a few good fireside chats in his cosy cottage during the years since. He was always affable and hospitable. So long Gruder.

My Mum Maureen (Mary) Casey nee Byrne, Frankie’s Aunt.
Myself & my sister Muriel all spent time in Beauparc in our very early years when returning to visit family.
On my visit last June to attend a family Wedding we spent time chatting to Frankie in his comfortable home
& we have fond memories over the many years visiting.
We will remember his many great attributes not least of which was his singing.
He will be in our thoughts & prayers.
