It was with great sadness that i heard of the sudden passing of Fran who was a member of the Vianney Boys panel when i managed the team in the CYC and in the AFL . On his own admission he wasnt blessed with football skills but always turned up for games without any complaints and i was able to find a photo of him in the Claret and Blue in 1984 & 85.He was always great company and a great mimic and even used to do impressions of some teammates and managers often to our faces.The last time we met was in the AI a few years ago at a reunion which turned into a great night.I also knew his late father who used to sign my bar licence application for An Cumann Parnell CLG when i was Runai for 18 years.
