Only spoke with him down in Sandycove a couple of weeks ago. I was grieved to hear of his passing so soon after. Long ago in pre-Vatican 2 days I remember being at a High Mass in the church within Blackrock College, and being very taken with a beautiful singing voice from the gallery above. Yes, Frank; a fine boy soprano in those days, and a nice memory of the fine man he was ever since.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Such fond memories of growing up alongside you all and knowing Frank to be such a lovely man. Our love and prayers are with you all.

So sorry to hear of Frank's passing. He played the role of the parish priest in the late Brendan Bourke's film Fishing the Sloe Black River' (story by Colum McCann) and they remained good friends for many years after. The last time I saw Frank, and indeed the lovely Eileen Colgan who has also passed on, was at the DIT Tribute evening for Bren, where he spoke so well of his experiences working on 'Fishing..'
He was such a generous person and was always willing to help with young film makers and students. Rest in peace Frank. You will be much missed.
