It is with great sadness that I note the untimely passing of Frank. My sincerest condolences to his wife Renee, Children Sinéad and Connor and his extended family. I have fond memories of attending Secondary school with Frank and later in life, when we got together as the class of '63, we always looked forward to meeting each other and reminiscing about, schooldays, football and hurling and where we were now in life. Frank was a great friend.

Frank was my boss in Eagle Star/Zurich but so much more than that. As a young lad coming up from the country Frank was a wonderful mentor, who gave generously of his time. I have the fondest memories of our discussions on all things GAA. Frank was a father figure to me and my colleagues and was universally respected by all. A gentleman with quick wit and so very fair. I know he will be cheering his beloved Rebels from the stands in heaven this Sunday. RIP Frank

Very sorry to hear of Frank’s passing, he was a great Boss, I remember the first time that I met Frank, he interviewed me for my job in Eagle Star, it was lashing rain that day and I was soaked through, he sat me by the radiator. We chatted and I dried off with the steam rising and I instantly knew that he would be a great character to work for, as indeed he was.

Such sad news to hear about the passing of my uncle Frank. We have great memories of when Frank and Renee came to visit which usually ended up in 2 or 3 hours of slagging, banter and lots of crack and laughter. A gent and rebel to the end. You will be missed Frank. My condolences to Sinead and Conor and family during this hard time.

Sincerest condolences to Renee, Sinead & Conor and the extended McCarthy family on the untimely death of Frank.
Although I knew the outcome of his illness was very serious after I had spoken to him on the phone from his hospital bed, it still came as a shock that he had died so quickly. Frank was one of my best friends loyal and principled and a great character. We used to meet in the Millhouse pub every Monday evening with a few other friends and he would have the sports supplement of the Examiner for me. He was so knowledgeable in all matters sport especially hurling and rugby. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Frank’s untimely death. We went back a long way. We started our working lives in GA Cork. We went to London in 1968, where we shared a flat while furthering our Insurance careers. Serendipity resulted in our working alongside each other again for many years in Zurich Life Dublin. It is unfortunate that I’m out of the country this week and cannot commiserate personally with Frank’s family and siblings. My sincere condolences to you all. May Frank’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
