Frank O'Sullivan

I enjoyed such a lovely chat with Frank and yourself Eileen a year ago, while we sat near each other in a waiting room. I recall you both telling me stories of your travels and speaking warmly of your family. The great love and affection you shared was so clear to see, I was saddened to learn of Frank's recent passing. My sincere sympathy to you and your family Eileen, may your husband enjoy eternal rest.

Frank was a gentleman. He fed the masses who passed his door on Upper Castle Street. So many good memories of visits there. Dearest Frank, you fed half the town when we had nothing and never sought anything in return. Fond memories of sitting on the window ledge eating your lovely chips and peas 40 years ago. We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Frank. He was a very welcome visitor to our Circus during our annual visit to Tralee. It was with sadness we learned of Frank's passing earlier this week.
I spent many coffee breaks in his jovial company.
He often recalled his time in the Brandon Hotel where he found himself, much to the envy of all his male friends, in the eye of the Jayne Mansfield storm
He frequently told the story of the porter who was drawing milk for Jayne's bath "her beauty regime" he told us. Confronted by one of the many reporters who were awaiting the unfolding story, asked reffering to the milk
"Is it pasteurised"
"past her eyes, naw, 'ts' nt even passed her hips yet'.
Was his retort.
Franks generosity was very evident when he very frequently sponsored the quiz on the then pirate Raddio station run by his friend Michael O'Donovan. Many had the luck to win a tasty chicken supper, and what a wonderful treat that was.
Always served with a smile and a quip.
The sympathies of all the O'Donnells go to his family his wife Eileen and his daughters Maeve, Rachel in whom he had great love and pride.
These sentiments also go to his brothers Dick and Vincent.
Tralee will miss him.
