I am very sorry to learn of the passing of my kind and friendly former colleague, and shall forever associate Fred's pleasant voice with Irish rugby. My deepest sympathies to Madeline and family.
So many happy memories over the years in the company of Fred. He will be long remembered by his huge circle of friends from many causes. Sincere condolences to all his family. Fidelitas in Arduis.
A thorough gentleman.. He always exuded such warmth and cheerfulness. An example to us all. Rest in Peace Fred. God bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cogley family at this time. I have many fond memories of him commentating on many great sporting fixtures. Fred Cogley was a true gentleman of Irish Sports broadcasting and will be sadly missed. "Safe in the arms of Jesus"
God rest you Fred. Your kindness, sense of humour and comradery will never be forgotten.

Sad to hear of the death of Fred Cogley, a great voice of Irish Sport... Rugby was his sport, but he presented Sports Stadium on RTE for years, many of my own generation will remember him fondly.. RIP
