On behalf of the members of the Irish Sea Kayaking Association (ISKA) I’d like to offer sincere condolences to the Cooney family on the death of Fred. Fred was one of the founder members of ISKA over 30 years ago and loved kayaking along the Irish coastline and around the world. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this very sad time. May he rest in peace. ISKA has made a donation to the RNLI in Fred‘s memory.
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Fred and wish to offer condolences to Sarah and the Cooney family. Your dad had a great capacity for friendship, and connected with people from all walks of life both young and old. His love of nature and the outdoors was always apparent, and he was the best of company. He and my late husband Des enjoyed many trips, walking, hiking, cycling in Germany etc. which he recalled with great humor. Fred had a generosity of spirit, and was a true gentleman. He,ll be sorely missed by you and all who knew him.
