Sincere condolences to the family of Freddie Hewitt. I have great memories of playing with Moate All Whites when Freddie always starred from his regular corner back position. His dazzling displays inspired confidence in those around him. Moate enjoyed a successful period during the 1970's which was due in no small measure to the performances of Freddie. Thanks for the memories. May your spirit bring as much joy to the souls in Heaven.

Sincere condolences to the Hewitt family, brother Tom, Sister Marie, sister in law Agnes , nephews and nieces. I knew Freddie from my early years with Moate GAA, where he was a legend, not the biggest man on the pitch but always the man with the biggest heart for battle. Freddie was a daily visitor to the shop (Londis) and we all looked forward to his chats which were always full of banter and good humour. There have been a lot of things said about Freddie such as Gentleman, warm smile, caring, fantastic neighbour , I could go on and on, all of these I completely concur with. For me Freddie was a loyal , selfless man who was always looking out for somebody else, and never had a bad word for anybody . Ar dheis De go raibh a anam
