She was an absolute lady whom we had the pleasure of her company over many years on outings and trips with the band and memories that we will hold close in our hearts forever. Our children have many memories from Martins shop and spoke fondly of her over the past few days recalling how she let them make their own Ice creams . She always made time for others and we know she will be greatly missed by all. Hopefully in time all the memories you have will help you all through the time ahead. My deepest condolences on Freda's passing. I remember as a kid coming to Rush on my summer holidays, Freda would always stop and talk to me and my mam, Elizabeth Brophy (Liz Martin). I remember so clearly the warmth she had and how she always had time for me as a child. Now, as an adult living in Rush, she still always stopped for a chat.
She had such a natural warmth about her, the kind that made you feel seen and valued in even the smallest conversation. There was a kindness in her smile and a genuine interest in others that never faded. Meeting her always felt like a little moment of comfort.
She will be sadly missed around the town.
