Frederick (Fred) Walker

Deepest Sympathies to Vonnie, Lorainne, David, Leslie and extended families. Fond memories when Fred use to bring our family to their house on Silverwood Drive in early 70s for Sunday dinner and chats. He was a great help to our family when our Dad had a bad crash in 1973. Fondly Remembered by all of us. Rest In Peace Fred.

My sincere sympathy to all the Walker family on the loss of such a wonderful father and grandfather. Fred lit up my Monday mornings in Foxrock with his heart warming smile, gentle, calm and always cheerful demeanour. He spoiled us Monday Walkers, he had our cards filled out, our finances under control and if someone was left without a partner he reorganized the list. He was a true gentleman and is greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

My heartfelt sympathies to David, on the loss of his father Fred, and all the extended Walker family.I will always remember his unfailing courtesy and calmness, usually on Thursdays, when standing in for David in the Pro Shop of Foxrock GC, to me and other members.He was a thorough gentleman, and has been much missed for some time. We also had a special connection through the memory of Professor J Brontë Gatenby, Zoology Prof. of TCD, where Fred was his chief laboratory assistant, and he could regale me with many tales of a wondrous personality and time together. A most lovely man to have the privilege to know,
- from a member of Foxrock GC.

Such a lovely man, Fred. As Secretary in Zoology had the pleasure of working with him for many years in TCD. Thinking of you all at this sad time. With deepest sympathy.

As a colleague and friend, since the 70s, Fred was legendary. I will always have fond memories of field trips, fieldwork, the 'odd' refreshment in The Lincoln and The Pav, not to mention the bruises from squash balls. Fred was great to me as a student and later on as a struggling new staff member in Zoology. He always had time to help, no matter how busy he really was. A true gentleman, who will be missed by all who knew him.
