To Ger,Emma & family ...sorry to hear about Freds passing...I first met Freddie over 40 years ago when he would come to watch Ger play for Annes in the early 80s....Always in good humour & full of stories....as previous people said he put in some milage on the roads (put us all to shame)but would always stop for a chat ...He will be missed....a great character......Rest in peace Freddie.

Deepest sympathy to you all on Fred's passing. He was a great neighbour who grew up with my Mam & her brothers and sisters. We also grew up next door and then my own children did. We all have different but lovely memories of him, some very funny ones. He will be sadly missed another of Oldcourt's oldest residence.

Over the past few days, I’ve been remembering Uncle Freddie - his kindness, his laughter, his joy and his love for his family. Goodness can sometimes be underrated, but in Freddie his kindness shone, far greater than many people I’ve known.

My sincere condolences to Ger,Claire, Danielle,Emma and Kelly on the passing of dear Fred.What a lovely “old Tallaght” and “ salt of the earth” gent!Fred loved to stop and chat on his infamous walks/laps around the area filling us in on his memories as a young lad growing up in his beloved Old Court.
He was a great source of interesting information on the local geography and history of the locality he loved.
Fred clocked up some speed and mileage on his walks that would put us all to shame.He was “as fit as a fiddle”.On many occasions Fred volunteered his time and care to the maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds of Holy Rosary Primary School for which we were very grateful and appreciative.He always had a friendly smile,wave or scéal for both the staff and students as they passed by. It was with great pride,some years ago, that Fred received “The Tallaght Person of the Year Award” for “Environment” to acknowledge his contribution in that area within the school environment!!
You worked hard Fred!A true Tallaght Stalwart.May you rest in peace!
