With deepest sympathy to Stephen,Mary,Gays adored grandchildren ,and greatgrandchildren,also Christine,Mandy,Catherine and all the extended family,on the loss of your beloved Gay.We will miss Gay as a great friend and neighbour,but especially as co -organiser of the Annual Whitebay Christmas Day Swim in aid of Cork Simon Community; supporting Corks homeless people.Gays enthusiasm ,and energy ,organising this fun event from its infancy ,was a major force in raising over half a million euro for Cork Simon .Sea swimming was not popular in the early90s ,and immersing ones body in the ocean on Christmas day seemed an impossible challlenge!Thanks Gay for your huge role ii the success of the Whitebay Simon swim over its 29years,and all the fun involved.The Whitebay swimmers ,supporters ,and friends ,and Cork Simon Community will remember you always . ."I línte Dé go gcastar sinn".

Gay will be fondly remembered by all at Cork Simon for his wonderful work as co-orgnaiser of the White Bay Christmas Day Swim, Cork Simon’s longest standing community event ongoing for nearly 30 years.
I know that in his community, in the wider Aghada area and at work in Pfizer, Gay was a great advocate for Cork Simon.

Out thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.

I am very sorry to hear of Gay's passing. I know him through the Swim for Cork Simon which he was wonderfully committed to for going on 30 years. We will miss him.

He was very proud of his vegetable garden and duplicated this in Ardnehue with many cuttings from Aghada. He was a very kind and generous man and we will miss him.
