Today I was saddened to hear that Gay had sadly passed. I joined An Garda Siochana along with Gay in April, 1974. My memory of Gay in the 18 weeks of our training,was that he was such a nice and very quiet,gentleman. Sadly I didnt meet Gay in all the 51 years since we passed out in Templemore. From the condolances of Garda members who worked along side Gay,he didnt change. My sincerest condolances to Gays family. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

No doubt he is having a few drinks and a lot of craic at a bar up there with his family and friends that have gone before him.
