Very sorry to hear of the passing of Garry - My sincere condolences to his family. Unfortunately due to illness I was unable to attend the funeral.

Garry and I first met in the 1950s in St Mary's Rathmines. We were both in the Scout Troop, in fact he was my patrol leader. Great memories of hikes and camps. The next time I met him was in RIYC where he was the life and soul of the Wine Society. - lovely wine dinners and of course many fine wines! We will miss his companionship.

Dear Barbara, as you and all who Garry loved, lay him to rest today, our hearts and most sincere sympathies are with you all.

On our visits to Dunlaoghaire over the years, Garry was always so warm and welcoming, with his easy friendliness and interesting chats. He always made you feel included. What a beautiful soul.

I know that he will be deeply missed by you and all his family, and his extensive circle of friends and acquaintances. We among them are so saddened to hear that he has gone.

May he go well to his new home and rest forever in peace.

So very sad to hear this . Garry always took time to have the chats with us , whether in the yacht club or around Dunlaoghaire. He was always so positive and strong.
