Garry was a long time friend and supporter of Carnew Musical Society, and we have fond memories of the two shows Garry was in with us in Carnew. RIP Garry.

Gorey’s Garry Lombard’s name is revered among the nationwide tribe of amateur drama lovers and practitioners in every corner of Ireland.
His portrayal of the Bull McCabe in ‘The Field’ by our late father John B Keane is one of the great performances by an actor on an Irish stage – amateur or professional.
Ireland’s towns are fortunate to harbour stalwart individuals such as Garry Lombard, who tirelessly endeavour to enhance the quality of life in their communities. Garry’s benevolent spirit extended far and wide, offering assistance when needed, be it in the realms of theatre, tennis, or rugby. His contributions to Gorey Little Theatre were immeasurable; he played an instrumental role in its creation and countless triumphs.
Garry was a great ‘Bull’, but his most memorable on-stage performance has to be when he played opposite his son Garrett in the stage version of ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’.
By all accounts, he was a handy solicitor too.
We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Veronica, Aoife, Garrett, Rionagh, Tomás and Ross, and his adored grandchildren Geroid, Realtín, Phoebe, Grace, Niamh, Donal and Cuan-Garry on Garry’s death.
We also extend our condolences to the wider Lombard clan and Garry’s many friends, be they thespian, legal, sporting or otherwise, in Ireland and beyond.
