Its many years since I met him but he was a good friend of my father John (his second cousin?) and would always call in to our home for a visit and a chat.
I remember him as a kind and entertaining man and may he rest in peace.

You were such a pleasure to work with when I started in my first job at Bank of Ireland and I will always be grateful for your help and advice throughout those years there with you. I can so vividly remember you advising me to take out a life policy for the future which I did but somehow I always cashed it in come holiday time each year, even you couldn’t knock a bit of sense into me. RIP Garry.

I remember when Gerald passed away when we were in Senior Infants in the Convent , your Dad came in to thank us for our prayers and brought in tins of lovely sweets for the class . He was always a lovely gentleman.

What can one say about a man who was thought the world of. From my arrival in BOI Roscrea in 1990 he took me under his wing and that’s where I have been since. He was my mentor and my teacher all in one. We both formed a unique friendship and there was never a wrong word but lots of debates about banking the rights and the wrongs! Today I said goodbye to a genuine friend of 32 years. Garry until we meet on the other side look down on us all here. Thank you for all the friendship through the years from parties to get togethers to weddings, but sincerely thanks for been the rock that you were with all your advice and sincerity. We will all miss your visits here to Gloster especially the girls for all the treats. Rest easy Garry. You were the best our Lord did give.
