Just a few lines to say how gutted I am at Gary's passing.
I was his line manager in his most recent posting within NICS in Belfast; my team and I were blessed to have had Gary with us. He was, simply, a lovely, gentle, decent big fella, with a talent, aptitude and ability for I.T. that is rare, and a warm and endearing personality that very quickly put one at ease in his company. I'm not even sure he realised just how bright and talented he was. I have no doubt that he could have gone as far in I.T. as his enormous talents would have carried him. His untimely passing is just a tragedy, and a waste not only of talent, potential and ability but also a waste of a young life that still had so much to offer on so many levels.
Rest in peace, Gary; you have left us far too soon and you are much missed by your colleagues in NICS, past and present. My sincere sympathies to your father, sisters and family circle.
