Gary HITCHCOCK

Louise, Kelly and Stuart, I was so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. We had known each other through Belgrove and St. Paul's, and after the school days we'd bump into each other in the Yacht pub when he'd be with his Ma and Da. He was funny and talented and most unique. The first time I heard Golden Brown was in the yard at school via Gary's special vocal talents. He'd heard it for the first time that morning on the radio and channeled his inner harpsichord. And he performed a note perfect version of Money by Pink Floyd at the annual talent show as he channeled his inner Dave Gilmour. In recent years we reconnected on social media, remembering the old days, chatting about family and talking about his illness. The world is a little less bright without Gary around.

My deepest condolences to Louise, Kelly and Stuart on Gary's very sad passing. I enjoyed Gary's company immensely and have many fond memories of wonderful evenings in the pub with him where he enjoyed his beloved pints of Beamish. Rest in peace, old friend.

To Louise, Kelly and Stuart. I will be unknown to you. However, I knew Gary well, both at Belgrove school Clontarf and St Paul's Raheny, being the Leaving class of 1982. Gary was a larger than life character and full of friendly fun, in those days. I was in his Art class and others at St Paul's. I retired in January myself and am shocked to discover while looking for the death of an elderly person, to stumble upon Gary's Notice. May his gentle Soul rest in peace. Gary was like a beacon of light whilst working in GSBB, entertaining us all with chats, jokes and Greek terminology.
He spoke of his beloved family frequently and I felt as if I knew them too.
Gary was a great character and Im delighted that we kept in touch throughout his illness, up until the end. It was a real privilege to know him and to call him a friend.
What a beautiful send off he received in the church service.

I am heartbroken to hear this news,We were close friends in St Paul's college, He was the most talented person I ever met,The music he played,the constant joviality was unmatched.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Gary. I meet Gary and Louise at a fundraising event I attended with a greek lady l know. I had never meet them before but they made everyone so welcome that day. And Gary played music for everyone. I often saw Gary after in the local shops. He always made me laugh.I am so sorry for you Louise and your children. God Bless you all at this very difficult and sad time.

Began reading this evening a Greek novel which I know they would get. Reason and words don't reach the end so we embrace mystery and the hope of Dormition and Resurrection.
