Gary Kennedy

I was very sorry to hear of Gary's death. We served together on the IDA Board back in the 1990s. My deepest sympathy to all his family.

It was with great sadness that we learnt of Gary’s sudden illness and following passing. He was a great guy full of fun and highly successful in his work life . His funeral service was lovely and the eulogy’s were a credit to him. RIP Gary . Condolences to Annette and family and Mary and son.

For so many years I thought of him as one of my dearest friends.Whenevrr we met up it was always to be remembered.He never forgot anybody that he befriended.

It is hard to believe that such an energetic, vibrant, generous and caring man has left us. As a friend of nearly forty years Gary was one of a kind. He will be sadly missed in Limerick and Kilkee. Our heartfelt condolences to Eimear Daire Annette Mary and Rory and all his Kennedy relatives in Armagh.

A proud Armagh man, Gary and I briefly played Gaelic for Oranmore-Maree, badly played Indoor Soccer in Renmore on a Tuesday evening. On the field, as in Business, he was tough and fair and great company. Hopefully you are now having a pint with Colm and Pete in the celestial Thatch. You will be missed.

From meeting Gary at IDA board 30 years ago to working with him in recent years on 30% Club I have admired how he has contributed so much to business, not for profits and so many other positive developments in Ireland and supported so many people. What a fitting nd lovely tribute the service was this week. So nice to speak with you at Searsons. Short phone calls would veer into Clare, rugby, family, the state of the world and even a "good red" recommendation. Mary and Rory i'am sooo SORRY to hear of Gary's passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this SAD TIME, condolences to ALL the Kennedy family also, had the privilege of meeting Gary at a Wedding a few months ago and what a LOVELY LOVELY man, prayers are with ye, Susan McMahon.

It is difficult to put words on the sadness I feel following hearing of Gary's death. Workiing with him in AIB was always a pleasure, no matter how big the problem or serious the issue. Gary's regard and respect for people was his greatest attribute and when you put this with his intellect and work ethic it explains why he was so successful in business and so highly regarded by so many. I was sorry to miss todays ceremony as I am recovering from surgery. Annette, it is so long since we met. Please accept Margaret's and my sympathy. We have great memories. Daire and Eimear, you were but children when we last met. Your Dad was so proud of you. You can be equally proud of him. Slán Gary.

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Gary when he was Chairman of SELC. He was a fantastic Chairman and was always very supportive and personable. Very sad to see him leave us before his time, RIP Gary.

So sad to hear the news such a bright, warm and funny man had gone. He was an inspirational senior leader at AIB, especially at times of crisis where his calmness, competence and humanity were appreciated by many. Sympathies to his family and friends.

Gary was my Chairman at Connect Group but he was so much more than that. He was smart, empathetic, a great listener and an honorable man. However the thing I valued most was his friendship which extended years beyond our respective work together. He talked lovingly about his family, was passionate about his rugby & golf and always saw the positive in everyone and everything. I cannot begin to imagine the pain his family must be feeling and the world is a worse place without him. I will treasure my memories of Gary and send my heartfelt condolences
