We were deeply saddened to hear of Gary's death and send our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
We have many fond memories of Gary at Blackrock College and in particular his stories of his experiences in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and Iraq), where he used to spend his school holidays.
May he rest in peace.

I am greatly saddened to hear of Gary’s death. Apart from being a teacher, a researcher, and a man of learning, he was a gentleman and a wonderful colleague in DCU who could find humour to lighten any dull occasion. He greeted you with a big smile in the corridors, as often as not an entertaining story as well. He will be very fondly remembered. My condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.
Loving Condolences Brenda. To Peter and all the Family too. Life changes, it doesn't end.
