My sincere condolences to his family and to Jack and all the Lynch family, on the passing of their brother, Gary. Although it has been quite some time since I met him, I can still recall the fun times we had, when we played music in Sgt. Brophy’s “Orchestra” ( yes! all 5 of us ) back in the late 50’s. We were so naive and innocent but we were happy.

So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. Ironically, just met him outside the post office a few weeks ago & we chatted for a while about times at Butler House. Gary was a lovely person & looked so well that day. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to his family

Fond memories of Gary in the early 90s when he was our postman, and would drop my post into my office on High Street so I wouldn't have to wait until I got home for the letters from my brother in the US. Back when post was post!

He was one of the original musicians that put Kilkenny on the map for its renowned trad sessions, and his fiddle playing was a pleasure to hear.
