I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I was in the Dolmen Musical Society in Carlow and Gary directed many of our shows between 1989 and 2000. He was the ultimate in perfection with his directing. On a slightly humorous note, at times there were a few who couldn't remember from the previous rehearsal where they were supposed to be on the stage during a certain number and Gary affectionately and at times slightly exasperatedly called them 'The where am I now Brigade'! I will always remember and be grateful to him for his professional excellence and sense of humour and helping us win show awards. My most Sincere Condolences to his family, my thoughts and prayers are with you, to his friends and his show families from all over Ireland who will miss him so much. May he Rest in Peace 🙏

I’m truly sorry I could not be there with you all to say farewell to my dear friend Gary as he sets off on a new journey, sharing his love and talent with a new audience. I fondly remember Gary joining me at Fitzgerald’s Menswear many years ago, where he first introduced me to his incredible gift for communication and connection. Only Gary and a few of my old colleagues truly know the mischief we got up to, forging a friendship and memories that I will cherish forever. His presence was a rare and remarkable gift—one that will remain with you always.

It was with the greatest sadness that I heard of Gary's passing.

He was a " one of a kind * guy.

We stayed in touch by phone throughout the years....and he was always up for a chat and a chin-wag.

I was brokenhearted to learn of Gary's untimely death, My deepest sympathy to his mother, Peggy, his sister and brothers. I met Gary when we were both patients in CUH, Cork, and we remained firm friends (albeit at a distance) ever since. He was simply wonderful and always managed to look on the bright side of life, I am absolutely devastated at his passing.

I wasn’t ready to say good bye Gary. It breaks my heart to write this.

Thank you for being such important piece of my life. I’ll miss our chats so much. I’ll miss my kids asking for uncle Gary. But I close my eyes & think of you, a silent hope, a silent tear, a silent wish, that you are here. It means so much to me knowing how much you cared.
