To all the Nolan Family - so sad you’ve lost your brother Gavin. I remember the fun we always had at your house in Stapolin. Steven, Mark (Doc) and Lolly from school days at the Burrow and Mount Temple. Keeping you in my thoughts.

My sincere condolences to the Nolan family for your loss. Gavin was a genuine good soul and his kindnesses are remembered well by those who knew him; albeit a good few years ago. Always good company with a wry sense of humour he will now be joining the many people who loved him.

I only met Gavin a couple of dozen times over the decades. He was an instantly likeable man. Always extremely welcoming and friendly.

Gavin was a radiant, creative, witty and sharp character with an enquiring mind. His big heart and wisdom made him a mentor to many. His love and pride for all his family was expressed tenderly.

Gavin once created an art image of an evening he spent at Clonmacnoise on his boat. His image conveyed a deep sense of peace and serenity.

May you now Gavin my friend, rest in this deep peace.

Gavin was was a warm, witty, well liked character. He had an inquisitive mind and a great interest in 20th century Irish literature. Gavin excelled at his work and was always eager to learn more. I knew Gavin my entire life. He was my dad’s closest friend for as long as I can remember. Him and sally (wiggy waggle) spent a long time living in my dad’s house and so Gavin was always apart of my life. He was kind, funny and always told the best stories.
