Deepest Sympathies to Maire, Eoin and Sile on the passing of Gearoid. I always enjoyed visits from him. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace now.
To Máire, Eoin & Síle. Gearóid served as First Secretary with my father Eoin MacWhite in the Netherlands back in the 1970s. I remember him as a kind and gentle man when we met with all of you at the Embassy in Wassenaar. I’m so sorry for your loss. May Gearoid’s spirit shine on for you and the rest of his family during this very tough time. May he rest in peace.
Dear Máire, Síle and Eoin,
My deepest sympathies to you on the passing of Gearóid. I have fond memories of working with him in Berne, where his warmth and unfailing courtesy and humour made a deep impression on me. He was a dedicated public servant who served his country with distinction. I remember his passion for the Irish language and culture, his creativity and his interest in the arts which he applied to great effect in his diplomatic roles. Above all, he was a kind, generous and caring family man and I’m sure you will feel his loss deeply. May Gearóid rest in peace and may happy memories console you at this sad time.

What a gentle man and a genteman Gearoid was to all. So priviledged to have known him. Cherished memories of his participation in the the Roscrea conferences at MSJ over many years. Our love to Maire and all his family
