Deepest Sympathy to the Byrne Family on your sad loss. I have Happy Memories of George and Anthony dating back to my days as a Junior Doctor in " The Regional" 1968-71, and when visiting or attending the Hospital with family. They were both so quick to recognise us and help. George presented Marion with one of his Bird Paintings, which she hung at home and always treasured. A true Gentleman.

The Byrne family has always been an exceptional one, admired and respected by my parents and our entire family. Over the years, we have known nothing but kindness from them. George and Anthony worked at the Regional Hospital for many years, and without fail, whenever any of us were patients there, we received regular visit from both of them. Their thoughtfulness was unwavering.

It is heartbreaking to think thar Violet is now the last member of the original family from Sarsfield Barracks left. She is, without a doubt, one of the kindest, most gentle, and considerate people I have ever known. I will make it a point to rise early tomorrow morning to watch the funeral Mass from Saint Joseph’s. Though the O’Reilly’s remained in the parish after leaving the Barracks in 1972, the Byrne family moved to Jamesboro Parish, yet it is comforting to know that they have continued to hold Saint Joseph’s near and dear to the family.
