Please accept our sincere sympathy on the death of George ,one of natures gentllemen. When I met himself,Ceri and the grandchildren in Gorey Town Park recently before he went into hospice we had a great chat about Monday nights in Coolgreaney ,about Templerainey and lots more. He was as lively and engaging as he always was. Thank you Geirge for brightening up all our lives and may you continue to beat out that rhythm on drums in your heavenly home . Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I am so blessed to have so many memories of George but three stand out the most. First, learning to drive and George said to me "respect your car, driving a car is like holding a loaded gun" I think of that every time I get in the car. Secondly, George then made my dreams come true by playing the drums for a song at my wedding. When planning my wedding I knew it would not be complete unless George played. Thirdly, was a day when he sat with my little boy on his lap, at his drum kit, and showed him how to play the drums. Oonagh, Alan, Oonagh & Ceri our thoughts and prayers are with you. George you will be so missed by the Kavanagh family. Christmas eve will never be the same. Most would say rest in peace, but we hope you rest where you can make lots of amazing noise on the drums and tell all your stories. You will always be in our hearts. Thank you for the memories.

My heartfelt condolences to Oonagh, Alan, Oonagh and Ceri and all the family. I am gutted not to be there but I was on safari in the serengeti when i heard and it was too difficult to get there in time. George was a constant backdrop to my childhood and indeed i idolised him in many ways as anyone who saw me arrange his drum cases in copy of his kit from the age of 2 for me to thrash out behind him for sometimes the entire gig at gardiners coolgreaney which he always took with such humour and grace particularly when he would incorporate me into his solo near the end in a call and response fashion with me trying my hardest not to let Georgie down as he looked back with teacher like encouragement egging me on. My father Jim Tyrrell said Georgie was the best drummer in the world. I remember thinking as a child how lucky my da and uncle were to have the best drummer in the world in their band and i still agree. If their is a tighter and more entertaining band in heaven, I can't think of one. I love you Georgie Porgie, R.I.P

Dear Oonagh and family- I am thinking of you all during this hard time. I know my dad enjoyed his daily face time chats with George so much these past months. We loved George very much and we love all of you so much too. ❤️

With our heartfelt, deepest condolences to Oonagh, Alan, Oonagh, Ceri and their families. We have been blessed to call the Byrne family neighbours, friends and "family" over the years and have collected so many memories of George that we will cherish.
He will truly be missed by so many as he touched so many lives near and far.
Heaven has definitely gained a treasure with its addition of George Byne to its fold. We know that he's playing those drums loud and taking breaks to share stories with our other angels up there.

I will sadly miss my brother George. He was a great drummer, & played with many bands through out the east coast &
beyond.I’ll miss our almost daily video calls to each other. Mary & myself send our sincere condolences to my our sister-law. Oonah, to Allen, Oonah &Cerri and to my sisters Evelyn & Gladys and my nephew Austin O’Riarden.

Ah no!! God , I'm so shocked and sorry to hear of George's passing!! The last of the Jim Tyrrell Trio gone!!! They were a big part of my early twenties!! I'll always remember his his drumming...he was fantastic and a very nice chap! Always with a grin on his face!! Huge condolences to his wife and family!! He will be missed by many!! I'm really shocked and saddened!!.
