Condolences to all of Mr. Chambers family, I have fond memories of him as my Biology teacher in Deansrath CC. His classes were one of the more enjoyable ones and I still remember several funny episodes and comments by him during those classes that make me smile.

I'm sure he is fondly remembered by any students who had him, including siblings of mine who came after me. A kind man who helped many, RIP x

Deepest sympathy to Trudy and the family. As a long-time colleague of George in Deansrath College, I found him to be a gentle giant, a kind, generous and loyal colleague. While the rest of us strove to earn the respect of the student body, the students loved George like no other. He had a fatherly mien about him and an understated diffidence that attracted the younger members of staff to seek his advice and wise counsel. George had a deep sense of humour and a sharp intellect with an ability to recall that made him a wizard at table quizzes. He held the role of assistant principal and was an enlightened year-head. I had the privilege to say a few words at his retirement party in 2004. He wrote to me the following week, thanking me for my kind words, and mentioned that Trudy had been living with this man for years, not realising how well thought of or important he was. She was now charging people to speak to him. He was jesting, of course. A significant light has passed from our world. Rest in peace, George.

Deepest sympathy to Georges family on your huge loss.It was my pleasure to work in the next lab to George for three years in Deansrath C.C.and each day I looked forward to the chat in the prep room and Georges humour and wit brightening the day! He helped me so much during that time (1987 to 1990) and I pray that God will help you all now through this sad time without him.

He was a mine of information, great fun and gave very good advice. He was a great Year Head and a master at table quizzes. George gave me lifts home on many occasions when I needed them. It was a pleasure to work with George. Unfortunately I am abroad this week so regretfully I will miss the funeral.

I am very sad to hear of the death of my beloved former Deansrath Community College Colleague, George + Many fond memories & hillarious moments come to mind. George was a gentle giant with an infectious & creative sense of humour. A gentleman. People first tasks second was George's approach. Always first into the College each morning whereupon becoming a breakfast buddy up in the Staff room where humble and valued guidance was offered in my salad days in education. George formed the hearts & minds of many, Students & Colleagues alike. Not to mention my own. A total influencer on me that shapes me as a person and as an educator to this day. Rest well George & thank you 😊
