I am so sorry to hear of the passing of George, and even more dissapointed that I missed his funeral.

I had the pleasure of getting to know George over a pint or 2 of Guinness in the Watermill, Raheny on several occasions.

George made a positive impression on everyone he met in the Watermill.

He was an absolute Gent, a brilliant story teller, really intelligent guy with such vast knowledge and varied interests, and most importantly a great sense of humour, and such a wonderful zest for life, and that legendary glint in his eye.

I loved every minute I spent in his company.

It's a very sad day to hear of George's passing. When we were much younger men we played gold together in St Anne's Golf Club every Saturday for almost 20 years. In the early 1990’s Raheny Business Association realised we needed to take on board someone with energy and time to drive the objectives of the Association. We identified George as the one fitting the bill. What we got was a Rolls Royce of energy and commitment, a human dynamo . We awarded him the title Co-Odinator. Many of the achievements of the RBA over the last 37 years can be attributed to the period of time George served. And he did it all with humour and grace. Thank you George for all you did, now May you rest easily.
