Sincere condolences on the passing of Uncle George. He will be greatly missed. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.

I was really saddened to hear of George's passing. I have great memories of him from the old days of the Marian Society. George had a natural, God-given talent for performing. It was as if the stage was his natural habitat - and he revelled in it. He had charisma & stage presence by the bucketful and his rapport with an audience was legendary.
Off the stage, as has been said many times already, George was a true gentleman. Always good humoured and funny. You always left George feeling better for the encounter. He will be sorely missed around Skerries.

It has been said hundreds of times but bears saying again. What a lovely kind and generous man. George gave so much in everything he did and brought fun and joy to everyone he met. After my Dad’s own passing in the midst of Covid, we were sadly robbed of a wake but George was there regardless, to share his stories of the band days and I could have stayed and listened to him for hours! He was such a lovely man and no doubt about it, he’ll be missed.

Skerries Theatre Group (formerly The Marian Society) was saddened to hear of the passing of George.
George had been a very active member of “The Marian” in the past, performing in Musicals, Pantomimes, Choir and Concerts. He played Captain Andy in “Showboat”, our first major Musical. He also played The King - the main male lead - in “The King and I” and many other roles too numerous to mention, mainly in the musical section of the group.
George was a committee member for many years and also served as Treasurer and Chairperson. He was always enthusiastic, friendly, good-humoured and ready to entertain with a song.
George was a true Skerries man, Thank you George for all the fond memories, we will miss seeing you walking around Skerries ready for a chat. Heartfelt condolences to George’s wife Teresa, children Caoimhe and Seoirse, May he Rest In Peace.
