Jane and Penny,

My condolences on Hal's passing. I served with Hal on the great DBSC committee, in the days when we laid the marks and got our hands dirty. I also had the pleasure of being part of the Fastnet 79 crew on Korsar with Hal, we were considered to be the juniors. He was always a great leader and showed diligence and compassion, I will always remember both sailing and working with him in our great pastime, yachting.
Thinking of all the family at this time of great loss.
Sorry to hear this sad news. Great memories of Hal and Jane, two very kind people. And the fun we had!

Sympathy to Jane and Penny.
To Hal’s family,
I was the guy who took over from Hal when he retired from Aer Lingus. We had a six month overlap, so we became good friends in that time. He triggered my latent interest in sailing, which I realised later in Dubai.
He was a great mentor in the time we were together, and was a true gentleman.
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.
Dear Penny my condolences to you, your mam and family. So very sorry to hear of your dad’s passing.

Sincere condolences to all the family on Harold's dying. I joined Aer Lingus around the same time as the other graduate engineers with him when I was 17. I got the train in to Tara street where their little Austin car picked me up and packed tight we drove to the airport as young men drive - fun and fast! Such an adventure, with a terrific bunch of lads. Thank you Harold.
