Sincere sympathy to the Haugh family on George's untimely passing. Geraldine and I first got to know George when he was our coal man through the 80s and 90s. We heard many stories of his kindness to families who couldn't always pay for their coal up front. Also, he was extremely generous over the years in looking after Mick who lived in a caravan nearby He delivered oil to the school that I worked in and was so obliging, even coming one night at 10 PM when we ran out of oil unexpectedly. He'd never pass you on the road in his truck without giving a bip and wave. He was an absolute gentleman who was taken far too soon.

He delivered coal and then oil to me since 1981 always ensured I was kept warm. I am forever grateful for this and appreciated how hard he worked. Even during the last snow he was on hand to rescue my neighbour's car. He always has that friendly wave from his delivery truck. He was the heart of our Kingswood community.

Such shocking news to hear of the death of your lovely George. Himself and Maureen were such gorgeous neighbours in Forest Close in the early years of our marriages. We continued that friendship all down the years, it was easy to do that because George was always just his lovely self when he came to deliver our fuel. So sad for you all, Maureen in particular. But you must all be heartbroken and we send our very sincere sympathies to your whole family. He was a good man. May he rest in peace.
