George LEONARD

I was so sorry to hear of George’s recent passing I have known him for many years and our most recent meetings would have been on Hill 16 where amid all the mayhem and excitement of a Dubs match George was coolness personified His analysis of proceedings as they unfolded was always worth listening to.

George was an absolute gentleman who always had a smile and warm greeting when we would meet at Vincents or Dublin matches. Dublin's loss was Monaghan's gain when he went to teach there. May he rest in peace

I am sorry to hear of George’s death. I played football against him for Carrick Rovers when we played Monaghan. He was a great competitor honest fair and hard. We were both teachers. He will be an automatic choice for any team on the Elysian Fields RIP.

He was so well liked, so well regarded and a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He always stopped to talk to you when you met in town and loved hearing what was happening in our lives. Very saddened to hear of the death of Mr Leonard..as a former student of Beech Hill College I have very fond memories of his class. He was a truly wonderful and inspiring teacher who saw the potential in his students and who guided me to be where I am today! I will always remember him for his humor and kindness! A true gentleman.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Leonard. I have great memories of Mr Leonard from when he taught me in Beech Hill. He was a gentleman and every student had such great respect for him. Even years after leaving Beech Hill he was always interested in what I was doing with my life and always asked about the rest of my friends. He never forgot any of his students.

George, you were a true gentleman and wonderful colleague in BHC, always having time for friendly chats. Your students respected you so much. I’m so saddened to hear of your passing. Deepest sympathy to Pauline and Liana. May you rest in peace.
