George Madden

I am so sorry to hear of George’s passing. He along with his late wife Mary, was very good to me in the early stages of my career in Music. We formed a friendship which lasted through the years and he and I attended several Country Music concerts together. It was always a pleasure to be in his company.
To his son Billy and all his family and friends I send my deepest.
May George’s gentle soul rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to Billy, Nancy and all of Georgie's connections. Such sad news to hear of his passing.

I had the good fortune to share many bus trips from Dublin to Limerick with Georgie when I was in college and then get a lift with him back to Doon. Those Friday evening bus journeys were unique, I would sit in the seat behind Georgie and he would regale me with conversations about everything and anything. He was unrelentingly positive and never had a bad word to say about anyone. We used to stop at the hotel in Borris-in-Ossory and he knew the names of all the staff members and would chat to all of them. They loved him and would light up when he arrived in to the room for dinner.

He was such a generous and kind man. I was only thinking of him a week ago and wondering how he was. Thanks for the great memories Georgie and for everything you did for me. RIP to one of a kind.
