Happy memories of George in our student days in UCD where we were two of the only three students studying Folklore and Archaeology and he regaled us with tales of working in the family shop in Bray and his family to whom he was so close, his plants (succulents) and brought Mexican food to parties in Pembroke Road. The Mexican bark picture has been hanging wherever I have lived since he kindly brought it and is a great reminder. My heartfelt sympathy to Michael and all the family.
My deepest condolences to George, his husband Michael, his family and friends. It was always a pleasure meeting, working and socialising with George who never failed to regale with his wonderful accounts of his trips and adventures. His zest for life was contagious. May he rest in peace.
