We both send you all our condolence for your loss . George was such a kind and warm friend , with a sense of humour all his own. Such warm memories of years in UCC together , long letters exchanged while he was in Canada and we were in Africa , even the fun getting his Dad's Renault 12 back on the road while his mum looked after us . He had so many friends and their appreciation of him shines through their own words on this page , a great tribute to him and his family present and past .

Deirdre and family. Sincere sympathy to you all. I often met George walking with you Deirdre on Saturdays in town. I had known George in college many moons ago. After many years of short conversations on the street, George suggested he and I meet in the Indian restaurant in Bishopstown. We met twice and had memorable evenings, just chatting and enjoying the food and company. We had arranged to meet again just before Covid struck and had to postpone. I was shocked and saddened by the news of George’s passing. My thoughts are with you all. John

Our sincere condolences to Deirdre, Oliver and Gillian. I have many stories about George as we inhabited the Chemistry Dept together from 95. All of the stories would tell of George's generosity of spirit, his love of a good story and friendliness. He will be missed by many, because he was a positive influence on all those he knew. Very sad to hear of George's passing. I knew him from IT graduate diploma courses we did in UCC in the late 1990s with some overlapping classes. I was so sorry to hear of George's passing. I had the good fortune and pleasure of working with him on two separate occasions. His warmth, generosity and intelligence were a very rare gift. We were very sad to hear the news of George’s untimely death and offer our sincere sympathies to Deirdre, Oliver and Gillian. We both have fond memories of George, through his visits to the farm here at Kilkeeran in his younger days and through bell-ringing. George’s life was a life well lived.
