Dear Michelina, Hassard, Sebastian and the wider Stacpoole family,
my friend Anny Verwijs joins with me in expressing our great sadness on hearing of George’s recent passing.
We have many wonderful memories of your wonderful and beloved husband and father, George, not least our marvellous, memorable and fun trip to the USA many moons ago now!!

Our very sincere condolences to Michelina , Sebastian, Hassard and the extended Stacpoole family on the sad passing of George. He was a wonderful and engaging character who helped so many in Adare and the world of antiques beyond Adare. He will be missed.

This condolence is on behalf of my late father Philip (RIP 1997) who was a customer of George's over many years and always spoke very highly of his professionalism and personality. I did meet George on a few occasions too. I am constantly reminded of them both courtesy of a sticky label of his inside the chest of drawers in my bedroom. May he rest in peace and my sympathies to all your family.

Our wonderful George, life will never be the same, what a wonderful wit, style and sense of humour. Your stories and anecdotes, knowledge, you will be missed terribly. When you climbed the ladder to hang a picture and I would sing the circus rhyme "roll up! roll up" and hoping you would not fall off and your shoulders shaking with laughter. Ah, the best of times. Our sincere condolences to Michelina, Hassard, Sebastian and all the family. "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye, cheerio here I go on my way..." Always missed. Say hello to Dad when you meet him in heaven. XX

Sincere sympathy to George s Family and friends.Reading the condolences is a small measure of the esteem in which he was held.His contribution to community in so many areas of life is extraordinary. On many outings with the Hunt Museum the best of guides would demur to George for additional comment such was his knowledge.Rest in Peace George after a lifetime of giving.You will be greatly missed in Adare and beyond..

Sincere condolences to the Stacpoole family. He was a great promoter and lover of the business and very encouraging of new dealers! I looked up to him growing up in the business and when I finally met him, I was blown away by his charm and friendliness. They say don’t meet your heroes but that wasn’t true when I met George . He defined an era! Will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

I am sorry to hear of Georges passing. My condolences to Michelin, Hassard, Sebastian and all the extended Stacpoole family. I first met George in the early 70s when I started my career in auctioneering and valuing with the late Lionel Sexton. George attended and purchased at all the many antique auctions we conducted in the city and county during the 70s.George was one of life's Good Guys. Apart from being an expert in antiques he had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to have known him. May George Rest In Peace.

I am very sad to hear of George's death. I spent many lovely times in his shop in Adare over the last 15 plus years buying little treasures to bring back to our home in London. He would advise & counsel & then help me rearrange my boot to squeeze some lithograph into the back of the car without injuring the children or the dog .Then he would wave me off to the ferry ! An unexpected friendship but such a kind man to get to know . Rest in Peace.

I am so very sorry to hear of George’s passing. He was such a lovely man, and I have wonderful memories of working with him and members of the IADA in 2016 and 2017, when we hosted an Antique Fair at Castletown House. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies to his dear family and friends.

My sincere condolences to Michelina and the Stacpoole family on George’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him on The Dealers TV series for RTE where we had great fun visiting auction rooms around the country. He had such wonderful knowledge of all kinds of antiques which he was very keen to share with everyone we met.

Deepest sympathy to the Stackpoole family on the death of George. When I came to Limerick in 1968 George had a commercial art gallery and when I attended art school in the city Stackpole's Gallery was the place to visit. It takes great courage to open an art gallery and George had it in spades.
