My deepest condolences to Marguerite & Family on the sad passing of Ger. I only knew Ger with a year or two but he was a great friend to my late Uncle Joseph Downes from Laurel Court, Caherdavin. Ger was a great friend and a wonderful help to Joe which I'll be forever grateful. May Ger rest in peace.

I was so saddened to hear of Ger’s death. I knew him growing up and then as in later life he always seemed to have a smile on his face. He was someone you would feel better after having a chat with. I met him last three years ago and he told me was doing well and indeed he seemed to have been restored to full health. Alas it was not to be. The loss of someone taken too early when he should have had many many more years is heartbreaking. My condolences to all his loved ones.

We wish to extend our heartfelt and sincere sympathy to Ger's brother Jimmy and his extended family on the shock of hearing of his very sad passing. He was so affable, kind, generous and a thorough gentleman through and through. Carmel used to meet Ger during the course of her work and will never forget his generosity with all the Lotto Tickets. Our two Families were great friends and go back many a long year, Our late Father being a neighbour from Newtown. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace forever. Sincerely.
