I often saw him at Mass in St. Saviour’s, and his warm, sincere presence always stood out. It took me some time to remember where else I had known Geralds face — it was from Bewley’s, from back when I was a child.
There was always a quiet kindness and genuine warmth about him.

May he find eternal rest in the loving embrace of the Lord Jesus.
