Uncle Gerry will be sorely missed at all family gatherings. I can hear his husky laughter so clearly as he imparts some gruff wisdom over a pint of the creamy stuff. His brother Joe was very proud to spot a picture of him and the crew of the restored Asgard at the Collins Barracks history museum from the time that he served at sea. I hope it is still there. Godspeed to a legendary Dubliner (as a child, I assumed that he was one of The Dubliners band because of his trademark white beard and distinctive voice).
