On behalf of the South Kildare Beekeepers Association we would like to express our great sadness at the news of Gerald’s passing. Gerald served as President of the SKBA since our AGM in November 2022.
Gerald became a member in 1964 and remained dedicated to the association throughout his life. His commitment to the committee was unwavering and he and Barbara played a crucial role in helping organise the yearly Honey Show in the CBS Athy, which was attended by beekeepers from all over Ireland.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and his family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to you Barbara, Shaun, Gerald Jnr, Justin, Katrina, Barbara Jnr & Robert on the loss of your husband and Dad. I met 3 of Ger's children but felt like i knew you all as he always spoke of each and every one you.
I was so sorry to hear of Ger's passing. We would have the chat's every week in the post office, he always came in with a wide smile and big hello to everyone. He'd say to me, i have a good yarn for you today or a story of times and people gone by and had great chats of my Dads family in Narraghmore. Ger would always ask "and how are all the Floods out there in Rathsallagh?". He was always pleasant and genuinely interested.
He called to see me a couple of months ago and brought a beautiful jar of his bees honey 🍯.

He was truly a gentleman.
