Gerald (Ger) McCarthy

Ger was an absolute gentleman, and a skilled electrician who helped us out on many an occasion. He was always so friendly and interesting to chat to whenever he was in our home. Rest in peace Ger, taken far too soon and a massive loss to the world.

My main memory of you Ger, will forever be you laughing and saying "Maeve you saved me from drowning in Brittas Bay" and me saying I don't remember that 🙂

The long hot summers of '82 and '83 when we were young and carefree, where you kept the community dancing
and goes without saying so many, many great nights we had in McCauleys.

Now you in a suit in the barnstormers biker bar, was a wonderful sight to see, an being adopted by the bikers for the day, the craic was ninety, it's a memory me an Ken still talk about and won't ever forget.

Ken and I remember you with nothing but respect and as a true, true gentle, kind hearted soul.

You are an angel looking over us Ger so rest your soul easy.

I’m only just after hearing about Ger’s sad passing,unfortunately too late to attend his funeral.
He was an absolute gentleman and a huge part of the Rialto community and will be sadly missed by so many.

We are truly shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Ger. A kind and gentle soul, with a beaming smile. He loved to have the chat when he came in. It's hard to believe we won't see him come through the door again. He'll be a big loss to the community, as he had time for everyone. I'm sure the good Lord has a special place reserved for him, as he surely deserves it. Rest peacefully Ger.

I am so very sorry to hear of the death of Ger. He was a true gentleman and always so obliging to my late Dad, Tony Carroll, which I appreciated so much. May his soul rest in peace now, Rialto will not be the same without him.

Ger's passing gives us time to think back fondly on time spent in his company.
He was always warm and friendly, good fun and as genuine as they came.
His dedication to his community work was unquestionable.
Though we kept in touch from time to time i was very much unaware how the tide had turned against him somewhat and that life had grown hard.
Not withstanding the support of such great friends who stood by him, he deserved his due happiness.
He deserved better than he was served up.
He deserved to life a much longer and fulling time on this earth, like so many who are taken away from us far too early.
I hope that today he finds peace, for he derseves that now.
Your psssing is still so hard to comprehnd Ger.
I'm sure theres a disco somewhere you have gone to that needs your attention or posters and signs that only your wonderful talent can detail.
