Margaret’s friend Elaine here, over the years of being at Milner get togethers particularly in Irthlingborough Gerry was always chatty, good fun and interested in what was happening in our lives. Always curious with a lovely welcoming smile - my daughter Vanessa and I are very sad he has now passed away but have only lovely memories of this kind and caring man. We stayed once in clogher head and he was very generous as always. Much love and our best always Gerry xxx

Me and my girls will have featured small in Gerry's life but he was huge to us. Unlikely to chance upon and warmer, more interesting person. My enduring memory of him is him stamping through Wiltshire fields in a crop circle quest. I was always happy to see and hear him. That's a gift... making people happy. My love.

The E-Boat fleet in Skerries had the great fortune of spending many happy hours in Gerry’s company, racing around the bay, tussling with each other for position and debating the outcome afterwards with great fun and humour.
