Richie, I only just saw the news now, via a post on LinkedIn by Fr Kelly. So very sorry to hear this, sincere condolences from Simone and I to you, Nicky and the kids. RIp Gerry.

A month has passed and it seems like so much longer.

Gerry was such a good friend to so many of us.

When your dad died at a very young age Gerald stepped up and drove the family on to become the great people you all turned out to be. A rock for your mam Peig and never forgot his Terenure roots . Sadly Dennis is not around today but the Wards & Kinsellas go back a long way.

Extending my condolences to the Kinsella family. Gerry was one of the people who introduced me to sailing in Dublin Bay and I really valued his encouragement and his willingness to share his knowledge of the sea, sailing and especially sailboat racing. He wore this knowledge lightly and I will miss his competitive spirit on the water and his humour in the clubhouse.

I would like to offer my condolances to the entire Kinsella family and particularly to Austin and Marty. I have the fondest memories our times together in Fortfield and being in and out of the Kinsella family home where there was always a great welcome from Mrs Kinsella. Gerry was a tad older than many of our group and knew more than we did and always took great delight in sharing his more mature insights with us. A talent he brought to later life. Rest in peace Gerry.

'May there be no moaning of the bar' Gerry 'when you put out to sea'.

Every time I met Gerry, he spoke fondly of Terenure College and my cousins Noelle, John and Paddy Breen of Fortfield Park, who grew up on the same road at the same time as Gerry did.
Gerry was a good sailing friend, who sailed his 'Bendemeer' from more years than I can remember. He will be much missed in the Royal St George and in Dun Laoghaire.
I pass my condolences to his family, sadly, none of whom I ever met.
