I worked with Ger in the Westmeath Examiner many years ago and she was such a positive, creative and occasionally fiery soul. She had a great presence and she was terrific fun to work with. I remember fondly her 'sidelines' - be it greetings cards, Christmas cards or other artistic creations - which we happily bought. Her love for her girls was immense, and for her family I hope the memories of a devoted life well-lived will bring comfort in the difficult times ahead. RIP Ger.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Ger was always ready with a kind word, a bright smile and the reassurance that things would be ok. She was fiercely proud of her children and loved them very much. Many years ago, I offered to leave someone home from a Christmas party- we thought it was a few miles away it ended up taking a few hours- Ger came with me to keep me company and I still remember how much we laughed the whole way there and home. Fiona, Ciara, Terry, friends and family - Im heartbroken for you all. What an incredible soul Ger was. The last few days, as college friends, we have been sharing many photos and special memories spent with her, and ALL of these bring laughter. Ger always brought laughter. She was so funny and great to be around. Im so glad we reconnected again in recent years and got to share more precious times together. She more than touched our lives and has been an inspiration to us all, showing incredible strength through these very tough years. Sending my deepest sympathies. Rest in Peace dearest Ger xxx

Totally saddened and shocked by this news. Ger and I worked together in CMG and often took Fiona and Ciara horse riding together. We were always laughing and Ger always had a smile for you. Such a lovely woman. My condolences to Ciara, Fiona and family.

Geraldine's former colleagues in Celtic Media Group are so saddened to hear of her passing. Ger worked with us in Mullingar for over a decade up to 2012 and later for a couple of years as part of Dublin People Group. We remember her as a high calibre graphic designer and trainer. We also remember Ger as a lovely friend, full of empathy and a great sense of fun. Our hearts go out to Fiona and Ciara who used to call into our office "to see Mum". Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
