I, along with all of my classmates, will miss you so much Ms Murphy. You were a great guidance councillor & teacher to all of my classmates in Newpark Comprehensive School. You were such a kind & supportive lady when we needed it most. It's going to be hard knowing that you won't be around us anymore. We will still remember you fondly while you're up there in heaven. Rest in peace to a great legend seen around Newpark's corridors. It won't be the same without you.

Ger so sorry to hear that you have passed, you were such a comfort to my dad and as you said you were the only two left 💔 Can't believe you are gone now too. I am really going to miss the wonderful chats we had and your such thoughtfulness towards me and my family. You were such a treasure of a cousin and I will always be inspired by you. Condolences to the family and friends. I am deeply hurt by the news of Ger’s passing. She was a kind and caring lady who would do anything to help. I remember calling her and she told me she was in the hospital, yet she still managed to help me. She will be truly missed.

I am deeply saddened by Ger’s death, this is a big loss to me and I know it’s a big loss to a lot of people. She touched so many hearts and I am so grateful she touched mine. Her kindness was healing beyond words. I am so happy to have met her, we are rarely offered the opportunity to meet someone like her. I had the privilege of seeing her working with people and I have learned so much from her!

I am truly sorry to hear of Ger's passing. When we began our Guidance counselling programme in DCU in 2007, Ger was unrelenting in her support, encouragement and advice to me. She was ever kind hearted, perpetually good humoured and a most honourable and decent human being. And I can only imagine she was equally so as a wonderful guidance counsellor in shaping the lives of so many.

I had the honour and privilege of being a classmate of Geraldine at the DCG program in UCD in 1973-4. What a wonderful person, so positive, so enthusiastic, so encouraging, so kind. I first met Ger in meetings of guidance trainers where we sometimes disagreed, but the discussion was always cordial, and warmth prevailed at lunch. In later years she was a positive presence at IGC conferences and I always enjoyed meeting her. Condolences to her family and friends.

So very sad to hear of Ger's passing. I got to meet her on a number of occasions when visiting Denis in hospital. Denis was my former head of department in the Hotel School in GMIT.

Geraldine was a true gem. She radiated energy and enthusiasm every time you met her. A person you could ending up chatting to for too long on the Avenue and miss not one DART but often two! She was a font of knowledge but had a wonderful ability to listen, understand and engage. She was also one of the most eloquent public speakers I have ever heard; what a talent she had. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. May she now Rest in Peace.

I knew Ger from the IGC. I always found her to be most welcoming, professional, kind and helpful. She had a lovely warm personality and she contributed a lot to the guidane community in Ireland.

Ger was an amazing woman full of fun and life her dedication to Guidance in Ireland was second to none. She always had a good word, a laugh and a joke. I will miss meeting and chatting with her, her sound advice always. She will be deeply missed.

I knew Geraldine as a parishioner and then got to know her very well during my work as Parish Secretary. When the Dublin Diocese requested each parish to establish a Child Safeguarding Committee and Representative, Geraldine volunteered. She brought all her teaching and community experience, as well as her integrity and professionalism to the role. She was so generous with her time.
I extend particular sympathy to her choir colleagues and to her great neighbours who will miss her dearly.

I first met Geraldine as Guidance Counsellor in Holy Family School in Newbridge and I was a teacher in anther school in the town. She was full of life and sound advice and influenced my own decision to go into guidance counselling. Later I would meet her at guidance counselling events and her enthusiasm and energy was infectious. She moved to Newpark and we kept in touch. Amazingly she turned up on a holiday we did in Romania and again her energy there was fantastic and she told us stories of her travels around the world. We would meet at guidance events, including two this year, and her commitment to that work was remarkable. She will be missed by us and all that knew her.
A wonderful person.
