I am very sorry to hear about Geraldine’s passing.
My sincere sympathy to Liam & to Geraldine’s children and to Eamonn, Patsy, Danny, Peter, Seamus, Marie, Ann & Rosaleen, our neighbours and good friends since childhood.
Geraldine, like her Mum, was good natured & warm hearted.
She & Rosetta, invited my Father Tommy Fildy & My Mother to her wedding even though my Father had a stroke, was in a wheelchair and wasn’t too well. Geraldine & her Mum said ‘No matter, bring him along; he might enjoy the day’. I was home that weekend and took him along to Geraldine & Liam’s wedding in Bundoran.
Well he had a great day.! For a man who was poorly, he improved enormously. Ate & drank everything in sight and sat with Ed Stephenson, Roy Hudie, Philomena Burns & loads of neighbours and friends who have since passed. He had a whale of a time! It was a great wedding. He enjoyed every minute of it.!
That was the last good day of my Fathers life and he had a great time among friends and neighbours and it was all thanks to the warmth & generosity of Geraldine, Liam, Rosetta, & the Murray family.
I will ‘till my final breath, always be grateful to Geraldine for doing that for Tommy.
Thank you Geraldine, for your warmth & your kindness;
May the heavens open to receive you and bring you safely home.
