Dear Ciaran, Donal and Mary

I am absolutely heartbroken to hear the very sad news about my beautiful friend Ger.

We have known each other since first year in Mount Sackville and I have many happy memories of the fun times and mischief we had as teenagers and into our 20’s especially on our first ever foreign holiday to Ibiza in 1983. Ger being the sun worshiper she always made sure to have us all up early each day to head to the beach despite only having arrived home on the early hours of the morning.

Ger was such a very kind and gentle soul who never forgot a special occasion, birthday or an important anniversary. I received my last message from Ger only on Wednesday last when she reached out to me to let me know she was thinking about us on my own mums 10th anniversary.

Mary I simply have no words. I know how much Ger meant to you and how supportive she has been through all the difficult times. You were always so kind to all of us as teenagers when we spent many hours chatting in your kitchen in College Grove and then Dunsandle Court.

You now have three angels watching over you 🤍🤍🤍

I am away at the moment but I will be thinking of you all this week and will be lighting a candle for Ger too may her very gentle soul rest in peace.
