Geralyn Corcoran

Very sad to read Ms.Corcoran has passed away. I remember her as our kind, softly spoken science and choir teacher in Eureka from 1989-94, and I've no doubt we drove her mad at times! She was a great teacher. Condolences to her family and friends at this tough time.

My sincere condolences to all Geralyns family on her death. I had the pleasure of meeting Geralyn only a few times while providing home care to her and could see what a lovely gentle lady she was. It was a privilege to meet and care for her while in the loving care of her family. May she rest in peace.

It was with great sadness I heard of Geralyn's untimely passing. She and I spent many a Monday night over the years, travelling from Navan to Drogheda for choir practice. I enjoyed her company greatly with her infectious laugh and quirky sense of humour.

I first met Geralyn when we were doing a computer course together and we had several chance encounters over the years. She always greeted me with a warm smile and we enjoyed many a conversation together, whether brief or lengthy! Her ladylike qualities and quiet determination were admirable, along with her obvious passion for teaching.

I was so young, nervous and missing home in Galway starting my teaching career at first in Eureka Secondary school but Geralyn another Galway woman took me under her wing and so kind and caring towards me. I won’t forget the many chats and laughs we had when she gave me many lifts in her car to Navan and Galway. She was an absolute gentle lady who had a good sense of humour.
