Gerry was synonimous with Loreto Balbriggan , he was just so gifted , such a gentleman and was always the go-to person when any problem arose. Gerry knew everything about the school and convent .whether it was pipes, electrics , buildings and everything to do with maintenance.. he wanted just the very best for everyone in such a supportive way.Gerry thank you for all your upport and may you enjoy great peace and eternal rest.

Such sad and unexpected news to receive on Saturday morning that Gerry had passed away. I will always remember Gerry, during my years in Loreto, busying his way through the day in that quiet and unassuming style, that was his. He always said hello and I often wondered how he knew everyone’s name despite never outwardly asking. May you rest in peace Gerry.

Such a gentle kind soul. A man of very few words and yet he has left a lasting impression on so many.

Gerry was an absolute gentlemen to me during my time teaching in Loreto Balbriggan. Always a man to fix any problem in the home economics kitchen, big or small. Gerry never complained about an extra job, and I was so sorry to hear that he had passed away. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Gerry was a constant presence in Loreto Balbriggan for 48 years. He cared for the school with quiet commitment and a generous heart.

The entire Loreto Balbriggan school community is deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our long-serving Caretaker, Gerry. Gerry gave a lifetime of service to the school. He was a constant presence who was always dependable, loyal, and unassuming. A skilled craftsman, he had an interesting mind and a dedication and commitment to his work.
Part of the fabric of our school, he will be truly missed. His legacy and the impact he has made will be evident for a long time to come.
Our sympathies are extended to his brother Sean, his sister Breda and extended family members and friends.
