Shocked to hear this tragic news, unfortunately I was away at the time.
I got to know Ger very well over the last few years and in particular when we worked together in RGII.
Ger was so passionate about gas safety and the importance of adhering to high standards, he is a huge loss to our industry.
My deepest condolences to Ger’s loved ones and even though I never met Elaine, Séan or Robyn, it was clear that Ger loved you all dearly and he always spoke of you with the greatest affection and the highest respect.
Ger I am already missing our regular chats and catch-ups and that’s from a United and Rovers supporter.
First time I’ve ever written or typed this but ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

I only met Ger once when he did an rgii audit for me a couple of years ago. He was a gentleman. I only heard of his passing yesterday. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I remember Ger from our school days at Collinstown. May he RIP condolences to his wife children mother father and siblings. Thinking if his large circle of friends at this time.

Deepest condolences to all the Desmond family at this heartbreaking time. Have such great memories of our time in John Paul 2nd Youth Club in particular our inter club competitions where myself and Ger were doubles partners in table tennis on many occassions. Always so encouraging and many a great laugh had.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ger during the 3 year course we did together in TU Bolton street, he was such a character and a real genuine person, he had a great drive and was the type of person people are drawn to with lots of charisma, he will be sadly missed by all his classmates from that time, especially in the whatsapp group that still continues from our first year, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis 🙏

I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to Ger's family and friends. It was a privilege to have known Ger during our time in college. He was so proud of his wife and kids and spoke often about them. He would always go above and beyond to help anyone he could. We will miss him greatly
